Blossom
The Blossom room at Brockswood School is a dual – purpose room.
It is used as a low – arousal learning space for pupils with SEN in need of a differentiated curriculum and individualised programmes to meet their complex needs. The programmes will include sensory integration activities, communication strategies, regulation opportunities and the 1:1 adult support to enable them to learn and achieve small steps of progress.
Pupils with Social – Emotional difficulties have access to Blossom at certain times of the day. It is a safe space where an emotionally available adult can provide the opportunity to access mostly Sensory – Based Trauma Informed interventions, establishing safety through Self – Regulation and building positive relationships with key adults in school. These opportunities support resilience and post traumatic growth, enabling pupils to grow and learn mostly through play and other creative media.
